Forestry and Wildlife Habitat Consulting Services

Forestry and Wildlife Habitat Consulting Services

Forest management and wildlife habitat management go hand in hand.  Much of my consulting forestry practice activities includes wildlife habitat improvement.  Any time I manage a timber sale, I set up the harvesting in such a way as to make more forage for deer and turkeys, nesting sites for endangered birds, breeding sites for grouse, etc.

All of my log landings and skid trails get restored and planted to protect soil and the aesthetics of the land as well as provide forage for wildlife.

Forestry practices often improve habitat for animals in many ways.  Providing ground cover, new young forests, forbs on the ground for food and thinning to make the mature oaks produce more wood and acorns are some examples.

I provide expert advice on how to set up property and get the right growth in the ground in terms of timber and forage.

Wildlife habitat planting can often be paid for by the income from timber sales.
